• Congressional Sneaker Caucus

A bipartisan movement bringing Members of Congress from both parties together… over a love of sneakers!

  • A BIPARTISAN MOVEMENT

Formed in 2023 as a refreshing moment of fun amidst an era of political movement, The Sneaker Caucus hosts Sneaker Day each year on Capitol Hill to celebrate the impact of sneakers on culture with special guests for discussions on footwear innovation, design, education, jobs, expanding opportunities, and more.

Sneaker Day 2026 welcomed House and Senate members and congressional staff to the Hill for a dynamic panel discussion with Sean Williams, co-founder of SOLEcial Studies CommUNITY Academy, and Dr. D’Wayne Edwards, founder of PENSOLE Footwear Design Academy and Pensole Lewis College of Business & Design. The conversation centered on sneaker culture, design, entrepreneurship, and career pathways across the footwear industry and featured curated shoe collections from SOLEcial Studies as well as adidas' World Cup Soccer collection, the iconic Best Kicks on the Hill awards, and meaningful conversations.

    The Sneaker Caucus:

    • Is not focused on legislative issues, but serves as a tool to strengthen ties in a fun way with Members of Congress and policymakers across the political spectrum.
    • Provides a key opportunity for members of the footwear industry to connect with Members of Congress about the industry and its contribution to health, fitness, art, entertainment, and culture.
    • Helps provide sneakers to children in need. FDRA and Soles4Souls partnered to form Soles4theDistrict, supporting students experiencing homelessness in DC.
